YANK does not store your photos. YANK does not sell your data. There is no user account and no login. If you use the Share Verdict Link feature, your verdict text (scores and commentary — not your photo) is stored for up to 30 days. If you purchase credits, your phone number is stored to track your balance. Anonymous usage analytics are collected to help improve the product. That's it.

When you upload a photo, it is base64-encoded in your browser and sent over HTTPS to YANK's server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API. The API analyses the photo and returns a verdict. YANK's server does not write the photo to disk, does not log it, and does not pass it to any other party.
Anthropic processes the image on their infrastructure under their own Privacy Policy.
YANK uses PostHog for anonymous product analytics and session recording. We track events like "yank completed" and "card shared" to understand how the product is used. Session recordings capture mouse movements, clicks, and on-screen interactions to help us improve the user experience. All input fields (including phone numbers) are masked in recordings — we cannot see anything you type. Text and images on screen may be visible in recordings. No personal identifiers are collected — PostHog is configured with person_profiles: 'never', meaning no user profiles are created. No advertising pixels, no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no fingerprinting.
If you purchase a credit pack, your payment is processed by Razorpay. YANK does not store or see your card details — all payment data is handled entirely by Razorpay under their own privacy policy. We only receive confirmation that payment was successful, at which point we store your phone number in our database to credit your account.
Anthropic receives your photo to generate the verdict. Upstash (Redis) stores verdict text for up to 30 days if you use the share feature, and stores phone numbers and credit balances for paid users. Razorpay processes payments. PostHog collects anonymous usage analytics. No data is shared with advertisers or data brokers.
YANK is hosted on Railway. Railway may collect infrastructure-level logs (IP, request metadata) as part of normal server operation, subject to their own privacy policy.
YANK is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), you have the right to access, correct, and erase personal data we hold about you. YANK stores no photos. If you used the share feature and want your verdict result deleted before the 30-day auto-expiry, contact us via the link on the main page.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of YANK after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of India.
